Essential Functions/Job Requirements

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: receiving service calls and dispatching road mechanics; providing excellent service at a minimum cost by proper assessment of the nature of the repair, the skill of the mechanic, and the location of available mechanics; direct road mechanics to insure all PM units are serviced on time; maintain all PM records; open work orders covering PM’s; enter new PM contracts in the computer for scheduling; review all PM work orders before billing; maintain record of outstanding road work orders and status insuring a timely completion of both the repair and the paper work; manage maintenance of over-the-road service department vehicles; maintain an awareness of potential problems and alert the parts or service manager of problems needing their attention; collect data and prepare monthly reports for management that demonstrate the overall performance of the road service activity. Preview work orders. Approve time tickets. File warranty claims and track credits. Serve as backup to the Rental Department by creating Rental Contracts and checking equipment in & out.

Prerequisites/Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in working with both co-workers and customers.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of labor inventories and work order invoicing.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory systems.
  • Basic Business Math and Grammar.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Accurate word processing and data entry skills.
  • 1 to 3 years work experience.
    High school education or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of Geographic Territory.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment.

Education

High school education or equivalent with 1 to 3 years experience that would provide skills and abilities that are necessary to complete the job.

Efforts/Physical Demands

  • Frequent Requirement: sitting, walking short distances, climbing stairs, dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment.
  • Occasional Requirement: lifting, carrying and reaching above and below the shoulder.

Essential Functions/Job Requirements

Equipment mechanic with thorough knowledge, skills and abilities to service, trouble shoot, repair and rebuild all types of industrial equipment and forktrucks, electric trucks as well as internal combustion; to exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures receiving assignments verbally or through written instructions without direct supervision, and to independently perform PM’s, test and adjustments on hydraulic systems; must be trained in basic welding. Provide own hand tools including safety equipment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-3 years experience working as an industrial equipment mechanic
  • Basic math and legible handwriting
  • Strong mechanic aptitude
  • Safety consciousness and risk awareness
  • Good written and verbal communications

Education

High school education or equivalent with experience and training which provides the required skills and ability to perform the job.

Efforts/Physical Demands

  • Frequent Requirement:  standing, lifting of 0-75 lbs., carrying 0-75 lbs., pushing, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching below shoulder level, full use of both hands, good finger dexterity, lifting from floor to waist, twisting of torso, and lying on back under equipment without neck support, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulder level, working in extreme heat or cold, and around exhaust fumes.

Accepts incoming telephone and mail orders for parts. Accepts, edits and process purchases or requisitions. Waits on walk-in trade. Requisitions parts from suppliers. Consults catalogs, price books, compares prices, specs, and delivery dates. Keeps records of parts issued, enters and maintains data on computer system.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must pass urine drug screen
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in parts and working knowledge of computerized inventory
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication skills; legible writing skills
  • Computer skills, typing 30-40 WPM and calculator skills
  • Business math
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Education

High school education or equivalent with experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to complete the job.

Must be trained in basic welding and furnish own hand tools necessary for the classification including personal safety gear such as safety toe shoes, OSHA approved safety prescription glasses, if applicable. Must have a valid drivers’ license, a good driving record and be available for road work. This is a safety sensitive position and requires a urine drug screen.

  • Must have 1 to 3 years of experience working in classification
  • Ability to service, trouble shoot, repair, and rebuild all types of industrial equipment and forktrucks, with emphasis on electric trucks as well as internal combustion
  • Safety gear such as safety toe shoes, OSHA approved prescription glasses, if applicable
  • Provide hand tools necessary for classification
  • Must have valid drivers’ license with good driving record and available for roadwork
  • Basic math and legible handwriting
  • High school education or equivalent
